The Moon: From Imagination to Exploration

The Moon Book, published by Dorling Kindersley has been released:

I was contacted by the editor last year regarding an example of prehistoric lunar symbolism which I think relates to a circle and crescent design from Göbekli Tepe. Though I’m awaiting a complimentary copy, they appeared at the time to have the impression that this was a ground-zero example of lunar symbolism so I mentioned Alexander Marshack’s work on lunar notches carved on Palaeolithic bone plaques which they didn’t seem aware of. I guess it’s funny how Marshack blundered into lunar notches and archaeology while researching a popular science book on the moon back in the 1960s.  

Will this be a coffee table book? Maybe, but it looks loaded with content. Here’s an attractive inner spread from the publishers:
